Kela

My collaboration with Kela is very limited nowadays. Before, when I was full time degree student and received the study allowance, we had more close relationship. I just visit their web page, since I actually wasn’t sure what’s in there. I haven’t got any reason to visit there for years. Now, when I’m studying my master degree, I need to pay university student healthcare fee to them. This is a bit annoying since I’m not using this services at all.

I already have European health care card. I was exchange student in Spain 2010-2011 which is why I got the card in first place. I have never needed that, which is only a good thing!

OmaKanta

In OmaKanta I visit yearly, but not too many times per year. Here I can see my own health information. For example there is information of all my prescriptions which I can also renew through that system. When I needed my Covid vaccination informations, I got it from OmaKanta.

To get into the system I need to do strong authentication using my bank credentials.

Pension

The pension system encourages to stay in working life longer. If I would retire at the age of 63 years I would get the minimum which is based on my salary. If I would retire at the age of 68 I would get the maximum which is around 600€. That is a good amount of money to stay working for 5 extra years. Though I really hope, I will have life situation which is not depending on that extra money. Time is more valuable.

The information from the app is reliable in some level. Price can already tell to the customer if the accommodation is more qualified. Though many times the pictures doesn’t match with the reality. This is why I always read also feedbacks what other customers has left. If same feedback (good or bad) is repeated, I can trust it is true.

Banking app

Daily banking is something that everyone (at least adults) need to do. Mobile app has become one of the basic applications in smart phone and the digital options are used everyday. Not only one can manage his or hers accounts via app, we can also pay, invest or ask new credit card with our phones through this app. It’s reliable but of course the users needs to be carefully of frauds. Fake emails, messages or calls are pretending to be from the bank and ask you to use your mobile app. Banks never contact you and ask you to do that, at least if you haven’t contact them first. So never ever use your app or give pin codes if someone asks it.

Digitalization and digital gab

Daily banking is perfect example of the digitalization and digital gab. Older generation might not even have smart phones. Someone may not trust it and won’t down load bank mobile app to their phones. Someone uses digital banking services through computer but still few want’s to go to the bank and have face to face communication. Is some cases this is not even possible, since there are no physical offices in all cities. More and more people are able to manage with digital services and are glad, that one doesn’t need to visit the offices. Still banks as on institution needs to make sure they can serve all they customers even its via digitalization or not.

Digital Competence test

The test was kind of eyes opener. All which I was well aware didn’t surprise me but instead of lacking information was interesting. Even though I’m pretty good with digitalization and new development, these are part that I should learn more. For me those were storage and protecting the data.

Self-reflections

At the very same time I started this course I also started to create content to my social media channel. This is part of the learning journey for me. Now when I’m speaking and putting videos (travel journey) I have really started to think my data privacy and what is too personal information to share. Some people are collecting followers, but personally that makes me nervous. When something is posted, you can never get it out from the internet. This course has in the same way raise my awareness of data privacy when creating a blog. I’m good with communication and networking, but I’m I really aware how to protect my data? During the course I noticed, that I’m not comfortable to write my personal informations, life situations or for example my employee information to my blog. Hope this does not take away the interest from my texts.

When it comes to digitalization, that is something I’m focusing on my work. There are lots of things I already know, but this course raised questions and reminded about things. Nothing is easy for everyone. Our back grounds, work life and many other things are creating our digital personalities. It’s not easy to swim in digital ocean so please remember to help and be nice to each others.
